Match-3 (Candy Gems)

Swap gems to make lines of three or more, built with pure React (no game engine). Sparkling candy gems on purple. How to play Swipe a gem toward a neighbor, or tap two neighboring gems, to swap them. A swap only counts if it makes a line of 3 or more of the same gem; otherwise the gems swap back and no move is used. Matched gems disappear, the gems above fall down, new ones drop in from the top, and any new lines clear too (cascades score more). Special gems: Match 4 in a row to make a striped gem. When it's cleared it clears its whole row or column (shown by its stripes). Match 5 in a row to make a color bomb. Swap it with any gem to clear every gem of that color. Swap two specials together for a bigger blast. Each level has a move limit and a goal: reach a score, or collect a number of certain gems. Collect levels end as soon as you're done, and every move left over is worth a 300-point bonus. Obstacles in later levels: Frozen gems (in ice) can't be swapped. Match them to break the ice. Stones block a tile, and gems slide around them. Make matches next to them to break them; dark stones need two hits. If you wait a few seconds, a possible swap starts to glow. If no swap is possible, the board shuffles itself. Keyboard: Tab to a gem, press Enter to select it, then an arrow key to swap it that way (or Enter on a neighbor).
